MNU signs MoU with Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice

Maldives National University (MNU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice.  

The agreement was signed during a special ceremony held on Monday. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shareef signed the agreement on behalf of MNU, whereas Chief Ombudsperson Uz. Abdul Salaam Arif signed on behalf of Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice.

MNU said that the main purpose of the agreement is to strengthen the relations between the University and Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice – in addition to collaboratively working on the plans formulated to build the nation.

They further detailed that both the institutes will collaborate on conducting researches in the field of transitional justice, work collaboratively to gather information needed for such researches and also conduct programs that will mutually benefit the institutions as part of the agreement.

MNU said that the agreement will boost the efficiency of both institutions and pave way for further development opportunities. Additionally, they said that they hope that the agreement creates a positive impact in the field and activities of transitional justice.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from MNU as well as the Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice.
