Ooredoo Maldives has partnered up Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives (MMWM) and Maldives Cricket Board to host a special cricket tournament for migrant workers in the Maldives – the first of its kind.

The tournament is titled ‘Migrant Workers’ Cricket Carnival’, and is being held in conjunction with the first anniversary of MMWM, on November 23. The purpose of the event is to highlight migrant workers and their contributions to the community and provide a ground for their enjoyment and leisure, as a way of thanking them for their hard work.

To take part in the tournament, migrant workers need to form teams with 20-person each.  Migrant workers can take part as an independent team or through their corporate organizations, and participation is free for all.

Registrations forms are available in common migrant languages on MMWM social media channels and may be submitted physically to the Cricket Board Office at Ekuveni Stadium between 10:00am and 4:00pm, or via Viber to +9607384994. The deadline for team registration is 12:00pm on November 23.

The tournament is scheduled to take place on November 26, at Ekuveni Stadium.

This event will also feature stalls around the stadium offering various services to migrant workers such as free health screenings, mobile consultation clinics and legal awareness.
