Met Office warns of three-day spell of bad weather

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has warned of impending bad weather across the country for the next three days.

In this regard, Met Office said that Maldives will be experiencing strong winds, rough seas and heavy rain at some islands in for the next three days – under the influence of a low pressure area over Sri Lanka.

On this note – Met Office has issued a white alert from Kaafu Atoll to Addu City. They are forecasting strong winds of 19 to 24 mph, gusts of 50 mph, and rough seas in this region.

All citizens have been urged to practice caution by Met Office in the upcoming three days with a strong emphasis on the need for seafarers to exercise caution during travel.
