20 islands to receive ambulances next week

Health Ministry states that ambulances will be sent to 20 islands in the upcoming week. 

Health Ministry said that it is working on sending the first shipment of the ambulances procured through the State Trading Organization (STO) to islands. 

The first shipment contains 20 ambulances. 

Health Ministry said that it is currently involved in administrative work, and expects the formalities to be completed and the ambulances to be sent to the islands within the coming three days. 

STO was contracted to procure 96 ambulances to improve the quality of health services in local islands back in May. 

Health Ministry has previously stated that 60 ambulances will be brought to Maldives before the end of this year.
