Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 91 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 85,198.
According to HPA, the 91 new cases include; 30 cases from the greater Male’ region, 53 cases from residential islands outside Male’, seven cases from operational resorts and one case from a liveabord.
Meanwhile, 189 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 83,574.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,379 active cases.
There are 15 patients in hospitals.
3,805 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,403 from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at one percent.

Maldives has recorded 232 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August.
As of present, 392,681 people have received their first dose and 342,337 people have been fully vaccinated.
