Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 108 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 80,067.
According to HPA, the 108 new cases include; 37 cases from the greater Male’ region, 63 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 8 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 113 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 78,189.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,641 active cases.
There are 16 patients in hospitals.
5,900 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,099 from the greater Male' region.

Maldives has recorded 225 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives has launched an ambitious campaign to fully vaccinate 90 percent of the eligible population in the country by the end of this August. It was announced today that the country has fully vaccinated 84 percent of its eligible population – closing in on the target.
On Monday, a total of 4,629 people had gotten their first dose whereas a total of 511 people had gotten their second dose.
With these new developments, a total of 372,777 people have received their first dose out of which 299,588 people have completed the second dose.
