President officially inaugurates Omadhoo harbor

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially inaugurated Th. Omadhoo harbor during a special ceremony held at the island this afternoon.

The construction of Omadhoo harbor was contracted to Heavy Force Maldives Private Limited in 2019 – to complete within 366 days.

President Solih inaugurated the harbor as part of the agenda on his ongoing tour of Thaa Atoll.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Solih noted that the previous administration had not done any satisfactory work to remedy the difficulties faced by Omadhoo residents in transporting in and out of the island.

Additionally, he also thanked Heavy Force’s management and team for seeing to the successful completion of the harbor project.

Omadhoo is the third stop in President Solih’s seven-island tour in Thaa Atoll. His previous two stops were Thimarafushi and Kinbidhoo.

President Solih is accompanied on the tour by cabinet ministers, senior officials from the President’s Office, and a delegation of high-level government officials.
