COVID-19: 111 new cases, 79 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 111 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 78,926.      

According to HPA, the 111 new cases include; 24 cases from the greater Male’ region, 79 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and eight cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 241 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 76,732.      

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,960 active cases.      

There are 19 patients in hospitals.      

5,297 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,144 from the greater Male' region.

August 13: 111 cases  

August 12: 125 cases  

August 11: 116 cases

August 10: 110 cases 

August 9: 108 cases

August 8: 113 cases       

August 7: 113 cases 

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths. 

On Friday, a total of 1,502 people had gotten their first dose whereas a total of 1,204 people had gotten their second dose.

With these new developments, a total of 342,511 people have received their first dose out of which 294,109 people have completed the second dose.
