COVID-19: 123 new cases, 29 from Male' area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Sunday, announced 123 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 76,750.

According to HPA, the 123 new cases include; 29 cases from the greater Male’ region, 45 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 16 cases from operational resorts, four cases from liveaboards, two cases from islands under development, and 27 cases from industrial/islands used for other purposes.

Meanwhile, 78 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 73,873.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,646 active cases.

There are 13 patients in hospitals.

6,733 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

Maldives has recorded 219 COVID-19 deaths.
