Tourist dies in drowning accident at a resort

A tourist who ventured into the sea at Riu Resort in Dhaalu Atoll has passed away after a drowning accident.

As per a media official from Maldives Police Service, the drowning and death of a tourist was reported to them around 12:33 this afternoon. The Police have identified the tourist as a 35-year-old Ukrainian man.

The Police added that they are investigating the matter further.
