COVID-19: 63 new cases; hospitalizations drop to 12

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Sunday, announced 63 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 75,879.

According to HPA, the 80 new cases include; 13 cases from the greater Male’ region, 28 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 22 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 154 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 73,226.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,425 active cases.

There are 12 patients in hospitals.

5,327 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 63 new infections this Sunday, 808 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

July 18: 63 cases

July 17: 80 cases

July 16: 114 cases

July 15: 217 cases

July 14: 73 cases

July 13: 170 cases

July 12: 91 cases

Maldives has recorded 216 COVID-19 deaths.
