Foreign yacht in distress harbors in Male’

Authorities are looking into a foreign yacht in distress harbored in Male’ City.

Police said they received information of a foreign yacht in distress arriving in Male’ and harboring in the lagoon near Nasandhura at approximately 05:00 pm this Tuesday.

Police said they are looking into the case.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has also issued a press statement confirming the arrival of a foreign yacht in distress.

MNDF said they are seeking further information through a local agent.

The yacht is being moved to suburban Hulhumale’ under the custody of the Coastguard.

Authorities have yet to release any further details.
