President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited the second COVID-19 facility under development in Hulhumale'.
The suburb is the location of the largest COVID-19 facility in the Maldives right now. The second facility is being developed in a building previously used for distribution purposes. The facility is being converted due to the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in the country starting from late April.

The President, during his visit, was accompanied by Suhail Ahmed the Managing Director of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) as well as the Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Athif.
The facility will have 270 beds. The current operational facility in Hulhumale' has a bed capacity of 276, just six more than the facility being developed.
