Maldives records 150th death related to COVID-19

A 79-year old individual has passed away from COVID-19 in the Maldives, bringing the total number of deaths in the Maldives related to the virus to 150. 

According to sources, the individual has been identified as a man who was taken to the IGMH Emergency Room today. 

The individual was declared dead when he was taken to the hospital. 

This is the second death related to the virus today.

COVID-19 deaths in the Maldives have increased significantly in the last few months. In May alone, more than 70 deaths have been reported in relation to the virus. 

Active cases have also jumped to more than 24,000 while total confirmed cases are nearing 60,000.
