May 13, Thursday declared as Eid Al Fitr; tomorrow last day of Ramadan

The last day of Ramadan will be tomorrow and Thursday, May 13 will be the Eid Al Fitr, the Islamic Ministry of the Maldives has announced. 

The Ministry in an announcement tonight said that the moon was not sighted to mark the first day of the Hijri month of Shawwal in anywhere in the Maldives. 

Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali said that the moon was not sighted in any Islamic nation as well based on trusted astrological calculations. 

So, under the policy to sight the moon for the month of Shawwal and to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, tomorrow will be the last day of Ramadan. 

May 13, Thursday will be the Islamic holiday Eid Al Fitr, said the Minister in his announcement.
