Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 132 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 25,436.
According to HPA, the new cases include; 56 cases from the greater Male’ region, 54 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 22 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 110 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 22,276.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 3,084 active cases.
There are 82 patients in hospitals.
3,074 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
67 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
HPA stated that 2,740 people were vaccinated today. Of the figure, 2,560 received their first dose – all of them from atolls apart from Male' City. HPA also stated that 180 had received their second dose, all of them, also from atolls apart from Male' City.
Total 267,795 people have now received their first dose under the nationwide program, while 15,137 have received their second dose.
Over 57 percent of the total eligible population in the Maldives have now received their first dose.
