The second batch of COVID-19 vaccines as well as medical equipment donated by the government of China to the Maldives has been transported to the Maldives.
The equipment as well as the vaccines were transported on a special Maldivian flight much like the first batch of vaccines donated by China to the Maldives.
Maldives permitted the use of Sinopharm on March 14 and began using it in the national vaccine campaign on the 22nd.

Currently, the first dose of the vaccines are being administered, with the batch received most recently set aside to be used as the second dose.
The Maldives will also commence the second dose of the Covishield vaccine on April 3. More than 235,682 people in the Maldives had received vaccines against the virus so far.
