Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 96 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 21,572.
According to HPA, the new cases include; 75 cases from the greater Male’ region, 10 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 10 cases from operational resorts, and one from an industrial island.
Meanwhile, 128 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 19,095.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,406 active cases.
There are 125 patients in hospitals.
3,071 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for the COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
64 patients have died from complications.
Maldives began mass vaccinations against the COVID-19 on February 1. HPA stated that 7,908 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. 4,941 were from the greater Male’ region, and 2,967 were from the atolls.
Total 206,114 people have now been inoculated under the program; 116,636 from the greater Male’ region, and 89,478 from the atolls.
