Island Aviation’s managing director Mohamed Mihad said that the company’s decision to lease its seaplane to India’s SpiceJet has proven to be beneficial.
In a press conference on Sunday, Mihad said that Island Aviation is also getting exposure from trips made using its seaplane in India.
Mihad said that the arrangement is financially feasible.
“Though the original agreement with SpiceJet was for one month, the agreement has now been extended to three months,” he said.
SpiceJet launched seaplane services between Kevadia and Ahmedabad in Gujrat state on October 31, 2020.
SpiceJet continues to provide the service in India, using seaplane and crew from Island Aviation.
