MDP’s top parliamentarian Ali Azim positive for COVID-19

The parliamentary group leader of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), Central Henveiru MP Ali Azim has tested positive for COVID-19.

Ali Azim told Sun his tests results came back positive for COVID-19 on Monday night.

He said he is suffering from a high fever.

Maldives has 20,919 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 125 new cases on Monday. 18,253 patients have since recovered, while 64 have died from complications.

The country currently has 2,595 active cases. 179 of the patients are hospitalized.
