Transport Ministry has cancelled the registration of 15 vehicles which were registered by submitted forged documents.
The move comes after Transport Authority issued an announcement on February 23 seeking information on registration of 17 vehicles.
The Transport Authority publicized the registration number of the vehicles in question, and instructed the vehicle owners submit the necessary information within seven days.
Transport Ministry announced on Thursday that the registration of 15 of the vehicles has been cancelled.
Consultants working on drafting the national ant-corruption policy recently warned vehicle registration is one area where corruption is most widespread in Maldives.
