Vaccinations for COVID-19 will commence for the age groups above 20-years old in Male' City tomorrow, Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced.
Previously, vaccinations had been ongoing for ages above 25 in the capital. HPA stated that everyone aged above 20 in the capital, can receive a vaccine for the virus starting from tomorrow.
Vaccines will be administered from 9:00 to 16:00 in the centers below.
More than 100,000 people have been administered the virus in the Maldives. The vaccine drive was commenced on February 1. The Maldives is administering the Covishield vaccine developed by Astrazeneca and Oxford University which is manufactured in India. The second dose of the virus is to be administered eight weeks after the first dose.
India has donated two batches of 100,000 doses of the vaccine to the Maldives. The Maldives is also procuring 700,000 doses of the vaccine from Astrazeneca itself.
