COVID-19: Maldives records 52nd death related to virus

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that a COVID-19 patient hospitalized in the Hulhumale' Medical Facility has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as an 88-year-old Maldivian male.

The time of death was recorded at 19:33.

“This is the 52nd COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.

Maldives has 15,736 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 122 new cases recorded last night. 14,096 patients have since recovered, and the country currently has 1,582 active cases.

152 of the patients are hospitalized.
