ADK Hospital has made significant changes to services, including switching to virtual OPD consultations, following a surge in COVID-19 cases in Male’ City.

ADK announced they made the changes in light of the rate at which COVID-19 is spreading in Maldives, and because some of the hospital’s staffers are under quarantine – leading to disruptions in services.

ADK announced that starting this Saturday, the hospital will be conducting all OPD consultations virtually.

The hospital has also temporarily suspended new admissions, suspended visitations to hospitalized patients, and discontinued elective surgeries.

ADK provided assurance that despite the changes, the hospital will continue to provide emergency services, allow admission of emergency patients, and provide diagnostic services.

ADK has appealed for public cooperation to overcome the COVID-19 situation, advising that people avoid unnecessary hospital visits, and come escorted by no more than one person when hospital visits are unavoidable, wear a mask, and use hand sanitizer.
