The Addu City Council has requested anyone that traveled from three specific islands under monitoring mechanisms due to COVID-19 to the city to report themselves.
The islands are L. Gan, L. Fonadhoo, and G. A. Dhevvadhoo. Addu City Council requested anyone that traveled from these islands to the city after January 1, to report themselves as soon as possible.
Individuals are to notify if they traveled by air or sea, stated the Council adding that the measure was to prevent any risk of COVID-19 in the major population center.
Currently, the islands of G. A. Dhevvadhoo, G. A. Dhaandhoo, G. A. Villingili, L. Gan, and L. Fonadhoo are under monitoring mechanisms. All of these islands are under monitoring in connection with the Dhevvadhoo cluster of the virus. 52 cases have so far been identified from the cluster.
