Spell of bad weather could last until weekend

The Maldives could experience heavy rains due to a low-pressure trough formed in the area which could last until the weekend, Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has stated. 

Met Office said that the weather could lighten up by the weekend and until then areas of the central and north Maldives, could experience rainfall. 

Seas are also expected to be rough during storms. Met Office said that winds of up to 13-23 miles could be experienced for the regions of central and northern Maldives while winds of up to 10-20 miles could be experienced in the southern atolls.

Wind speeds could increase to 45 miles per hour during gusts.

Met Office urged caution to all regarding the anticipated spell of bad weather.
