Audit on President’s Office uncovers no financial irregularities

The Auditor General’s Office has stated that spending by the President’s Office in 2019 was conducted in accordance with the Public Finance Regulation.

The Auditor General’s Office released the audit report on the spending by President’s Office in 2019 on Monday. It states the spending complied with the purposes of the budget allocation passed by the Parliament for the office, and that the goals of the budget were satisfactorily fulfilled.

 

The Parliament approved a budget allocation of MVR 121 million to the President’s Office for 2019. MVR 110 million was spent on salaries and allowances, MVR 26.5 million on travel expenses, and MVR 5.3 million on office equipment.
