Thimarafushi man injured in wall collapse

A wall collapse during maintenance work in Th. Thimarafushi on Wednesday, leaving one worker injured.

Thimarafushi Council’s vice president Ahmed Ibrahim told Sun the accident took place in the afternoon as workers were doing maintenance work on the wall.

The wall collapsed after the object holding the wall in place gave way, he said.

Ahmed Ibrahim said the wall collapsed on top of one of the workers, resulting in serious head injuries.

The worker has been medically evacuated to Male’ City on a helicopter for treatment.
