COVID-19: Maldives records 35 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 35 additional cases of the new coronavirus, increasing confirmed coronavirus cases in the Maldives to 11,567.

According to HPA, the new cases include 24 locals and 11 foreigners.

26 of the cases were identified from the greater Male’ region, while the remaining nine cases were identified from the atolls.

Meanwhile, 89 additional coronavirus patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 10,652.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 871 active cases.

There are 320 patients in isolation facilities and 47 in hospitals.

1,517 samples have been tested for the new coronavirus over the last 24 hours.
