COVID-19: Maldives records 84 new infections

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 84 additional cases of the new coronavirus, increasing confirmed coronavirus cases in Maldives to 11,505.

According to HPA, the new cases include 26 locals and 58 foreigners.

30 of the cases were identified from the greater Male’ region, while the remaining 54 cases were identified from the atolls.

Meanwhile, 52 additional coronavirus patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 10,524.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 937 active cases.

There are 307 patients in isolation facilities and 37 in hospitals.

2,231 samples have been tested for the new coronavirus over the last 24 hours.
