President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the role of youth in decision making affecting the future is important.
The President tweeted on this year’s National Youth Day, extending his good wishes to all the youths in the nation.

In the tweet, the President also noted that youths are the drivers behind the nation.
The President added that the duty of the nation was to assist youths to unlock their full potential. This can only be done by including and involving youth in deciding the future of the community.
On this year’s Youth Day, Minister for Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof also said that the government would remain steadfast in clarifying the concerns of the youth and resolving these issues.
The Minister was taking part in a virtual youth camp held for the occasion when he noted that a lot of work had been conducted in areas related to youth.
The Minister said that despite this, there was room for improvement. “Discussions are underway with different ministries and institutions for the resolving of issues faced by youth in different areas and further work by these institutions in obtaining their ideas and discussions.” Said the Minister.
He also noted the increased opportunities for higher education and training for youth within the last year and a half and stated his commitment to gender equality in terms of the development of youths
