Local movie star, wife detained pending outcome of trial

Local move star Mohamed Yunaan and his wife Fathimath Rihula have been detained pending the outcome of the trial. 

The Criminal Court ordered their detention in connection with an abuse case made against them. The pair are accused of sexually molesting a 15-year old boy who is a relative. 

They were arrested on October 4, and detained for seven days initially. Their arrest comes after protests were held by members of the public near their residence. They initially requested police protection which they were granted before their arrest.
