New chief administrator to DJA appointed

Interim chief administrator Dr. Abdulla Nazeer has lost the position with the appointment of a permanent administrator. 

The Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) said that Aishath Rizuna from M. Banafsavilla was appointed as the chief administrator today. 

No further details of the new appointment were provided by the DJA. Dr. Nazeer was to be dismissed from the post of chief administrator after an amendment to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). 

Formerly under the Supreme Court, the DJA is now under the administration of the JSC. The appointment of the chief administrator is now to be made by the JSC. 

Dr. Nazeer was appointed to the post by the Supreme Court bench on November 28, 2018.
