COVID-19: 90 year old passes away, 34th virus death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the death of a 90-year old local due to COVID-19. 

HPA, in a tweet, said that the 90-year old was a local male who was receiving treatment at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility for the virus when he passed away. The time of death was recorded as 1:25 last night. This is the 34th death related to the virus in the Maldives.

The Maldives currently has 1,424 active cases, with the total number of confirmed cases at 9,724. On Sunday, the Maldives confirmed 75 new cases of the virus. With the 75 new infections this Sunday, 551 people have tested positive over the last one-week period. There are currently 686 patients in isolation facilities and 117 in hospitals
