Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced 74 additional cases of the COVID-19, increasing confirmed COVID-19 cases in Maldives to 9,568.
According to HPA, the new cases include 37 locals and 37 foreigners.
70 of the cases were identified from the greater Male’ region, while the remaining four were identified from the atolls.
Meanwhile, 44 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24-hours, increasing total recoveries to 8,077.
The new developments mean Maldives now has 1,452 active cases.
There are 642 patients in isolation facilities and 106 in hospitals.
137,200 samples, including repeated samples, have been taken by health authorities to conduct COVID-19 tests.
33 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
There are active COVID-19 cases in 21 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. Two islands outside of the capital; G. Dh. Hoadedhoo and G. Dh. Madaveli is under monitoring.
There are also active cases in 27 resorts, including 18 tourists and 39 staff.
