Budget airline, IndiGo's operations to Maldives recommence

Indian budget airline IndiGo has recommenced operations between the Maldives and India.

The operations were recommenced under the travel bubble established between Maldives and India which is the first of its kind in South Asia. IndiGo will be conducting two flights per week between the destinations aft6er COVID-19 brought a halt to operations. Flights will be operated every Thursday and Sunday.

Indian flag carrier Air India also recommenced operations to the nation while Maldivian, the national flag carrier of the Maldives also announced today that it will be recommencing operations to Trivandrum.

Maldivian Foreign Ministry officials have stated that high safety measures and standards will be put ion place even if travel was recommenced. The operations will see a higher influx of Indian tourists to the Maldives as well as easements in the travel of Maldivians in obtaining healthcare from India.
