Broadcom set to begin community broadcast service

Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) is set to begin a community broadcasting service under the Broadcast laws of the country. 

An announcement was made by the Broadcom today that read that a pilot project for the purpose would be commenced in different regions of the country.

The purpose of the pilot project was to create awareness among the public before issuing licenses for community broadcast services.

Standards for service providers will be outlined under the project and the interest of the public for the program would also be evaluated during this.

Broadcom has now announced that applications from those interested are to be sent to the Commission.
