The Tree Top Hospital in the suburb of Hulhumale’ will be designated for government use in its efforts to contain and terminate the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The hospital stated that it was assisting the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) in order to successfuly curb the virus in the country.
“The Directors of Tree Top Hospital have decided to offer the services and resources of the hospital as a designated center for the government to treat COVID-19.” Read a statement by the hospital.
An agreement was signed between the National Disaster Management Center and Tree Top Hospital for the purpose. Under the agreement, the hospital will be utilized to treat COVID-19 patients from IGMH hospital. Patients of the Tree Top Hospital will, in turn, receive treatment from IGMH.
The hospital’s emergency room services will be suspended starting from tomorrow 23:30. Current patients of Tree Top Hospital and patients that wished to obtain the services of the hospital, can do so from the Ophthalmology Center of Hulhumale’ Hospital.
“Tree Top Hospital’s out-patient consultation services will be available through the ER clinic and telemedicine appointments of the hospital.” Read the statement by Tree Top Hospital.
It is expected that the switch in operations to treat COVID-19 patients will last for around three months.
