475 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the Maldives

The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the Maldives has reached 475.

The country confirmed 179 cases yesterday, which brought the national total to 468.

Statistics of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show that seven cases have so far been confirmed today. They are five locals and two Bangladeshi nationals. The confirmed cases include a five-year-old Maldivian girl as well.

Out of the seven cases confirmed today, three were confirmed on the northern island of Thakandhoo.

The confirmed cases are three people who traveled to the island from the Kaaviaa boat on April 15. The boat is still under monitoring mechanisms after traveling to seven islands in the north of the country.

Apart from Thakandhoo, cases have been confirmed in Uligan, Narudhoo, Thulusdhoo, and Milandhoo in addition to Male’ City.
