Virus positive Pakistani national visited 3 major hospitals in Male' area

The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has stated that a Pakistani national who had tested positive for COVID-19 had visited the major hospitals in the Male’ City area to consult with doctors.

The hospitals visited by the individual include Tree Top Hospital, IGMH, and ADK hospital.

A Pakistani national who tested positive for the virus yesterday has been moved to the special wing of Dharumavantha Hospital’s DH11 facility which is designated to treat respiratory problems.

In a press conference tonight, NEOC spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez stated that the individual had first visited the ADK Hospital. Eight people in contact with the individual had been tested negative for the virus.

The individual had then visited the Tree Top Hospital where contact was made with a further four people. Samples from the four individuals are currently pending.

The individual then visited the IGMH hospital where he had tested positive for the virus, said Mabrouq.
