“This is the phase 2. It is the most dangerous (phase) and comes with a surge. The number of cases would likely increase in the next few days.” Said the Minister.

This was something the front line staff were well aware of and prepared for as it had been documented and witnessed in other countries, said the Minister who added that work was being done to secure the guesthouses in Male’ City to provide a safe environment for the front line staff.

The Minister reiterated the importance of following the instructions of the authorities to overcome the situation and affirmed that the government was fully prepared for more cases that will have to be placed in isolation.
