6 more test positive, increasing virus cases to 220

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced six new virus cases, increasing total virus cases to 220.

In a tweet on its official Twitter account, HPA announced that four Maldivians, a Pakistani national and a Bangladeshi national had tested positive for the virus. They are to be moved to an isolation facility.

The country confirmed 73 cases yesterday, making it the biggest number of cases confirmed in a single day in the Maldives.

The total number of cases in the country currently stands at 220. They include 84 Maldivians and 136 foreigners. 17 people have also made full recoveries after being infected with the virus.

Testing statistics of HPA show that the government had conducted 6329 tests. There are still 234 test results pending.
