Gender Ministry provides temporary shelter for 85

Gender Ministry has stated that 85 people are being housed in temporary shelters arranged by the government.

The Ministry stated that out of the 85, 20 people being housed in these locations had a drug issue.

15 people living in these locations were in a state of homelessness, while 13 resort employees who had been stranded in Male’, as well as 11 others who had been released from prison, are also being sheltered.

12 others who visited the capital for medical purposes and eight other people who had visited for other purposes are also being housed at the shelters.

The Ministry has arranged shelter for 136 people due to the situation with COVID-19 so far. Some of these people have been handed over to their families by the Ministry.
