8 Maldivians test positive, increasing total virus cases to 137

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced eight new COVID-19 cases, increasing total virus cases to 137.

HPA said that the eight new cases were all Maldivians, but did not elaborate any further.

The announcement comes after news broke out of a positive virus case in Sh. Narudhoo.

Sun has been able to establish the identity of the case in Naradhoo as the captain of a boat which travels between Narudhoo and Male’.

It marks the second residential island outside of the capital to confirm a virus case, following H. A. Uligan.
