Met Office warns of thunderstorms expected in central Maldives

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has warned of impending bad weather to be experienced in the central regions of the country in the next 24 hours.

A yellow alert was issued for the regions of the central Maldives which expired on 12:30, and the Met Office stated that thunderstorms are anticipated for the area in the next 24 hours.

Winds will blow at a northwestern angle at speeds of 15 miles per hour, which could rise to 35 miles per hour in gusts.

Seas are expected to be moderately rough, however, the Met Office warned to remain alert for rough seas during strong winds.
