Ministry begins accepting online payments for Zakat

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that it will be accepting Fitr Zakat payments in Male’ City via online transactions as the capital is in a state of lockdown and curfew due to the spread of COVID-19.

In an announcement made, the Ministry stated that residents living in Male’ area, including Vilimale’ and Hulhumale’ are to pay the Zakat payments via Dhiraagu Pay, Ooredoo’s M-Faisa application, SMS or Internet Banking applications of BML and MIB.

• Regular Rice: MVR 15
• Thailand White Rice: MVR 48
• Basmati Rice: MVR 105
• Red Rice: MVR 65
• Regular Flour: MVR 12
• Atta flour (Wholemeal wheat flour): MVR 55
