President: Doors of worship remain open, despite closure of mosques

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has advised the public to continue with religious good deeds such as daily prayers at home during the holy month of Ramadan.

The president addressed the nation as the country welcomed the month of Ramadan during the situation with COVID-19 and reminded the public that the doors of prayer, worship, and glorification of Allah (SWT) remained open despite the difficult times endured due to the pandemic virus.

The country and the world was faced with an unprecedented test during this month of Ramadan, said the President.

“The COVID-19 disease has brought daily life activities to a halt, and the priority and importance of the importance of social distancing mean that collective prayers and acts of worship have been interrupted.” Said the President.

The fact that the holy month of Ramadan arrived during the sorrowful situation is an opportunity and blessing for the country to overcome this disease, said the President.

“Our religion of Islam, calls on patience, strengthening of faith, resort to reason, and ask for the support and help of Allah.” Said the President.

Despite the closure of mosques, the doors of worship to God remained open, and the President urged the public to perform daily prayers at home and recite the holy book of the Quran among other acts. The President also urged the public to make Du’a to find respite from the pandemic virus of COVID-19.

The President also called on people to assist and help each other during the holy month.
