80-year-old virus patient being moved to Dharumavantha Hospital

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, said the new COVID-19 cases identified in Male’ City included an 80-year-old Maldivian national.

The 80-year-old patient, referred to as patient 81, is being moved to a special wing established at Dharumavantha Hospital “for close monitoring and observation.”

HPA did not specify the gender of the patient.

HPA has previously stated that the virus patients in Male’ included a pregnant woman, a person above the age of 60 years, and three children, and that all stables were in stable condition.

The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives has risen to 82 since the emergence of cases from the capital Male’ on April 15.

62 people have tested positive for the virus from Male’; 33 Maldivian nationals , 23 Bangladeshi nationals and six Indian nationals.
