Maldivians students in Bangladesh, Nepal to be evacuated

Foreign Ministry of Maldives has announced that the government would evacuate Maldivian students who wished to return from Nepal and Bangladesh.

The Foreign Ministry noted that 18 locals from Nepal and 51 from Bangladesh would be evacuated on April 20.

The locals from Bangladesh would arrive in the Maldives via a military airplane in Bangladesh. The locals in Nepal will travel to Dhaka on Sunday to travel back to the Maldives.

The evacuation procedure is a result of extensive discussions between the two governments. A 10-member medical professional team from Bangladesh will also arrive in the Maldives along with the students. A Bangladeshi naval vessel is also set to arrive in the Maldives carrying 100 tons of aid.
