30 Malaysians who were left stranded in the Maldives due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19 has been repatriated back to their country.
The Malaysians were evacuated via a Maldivian flight that traveled to Malaysia today. Malaysia has been placed under lockdown following the outbreak of the virus. Flights between Maldives and the nation have also been temporarily suspended.
In a news conference tonight, Maldivian PR and Marketing Manager Moosa Waseem announced that the Malaysians were evacuated on a flight that traveled to the country to evacuate Maldivians stranded there.
The flight was also carrying 7 tons of care packages by locals to their loved ones and family members in Malaysia. Moosa also announced that repatriation flights to Trivandrum, India will also be held on April 11.
